Welcome to the El Cruce 2024 Volunteer Program!
Thank you for your interest in being part of the volunteer program for El Cruce Saucony 2024!
If you are looking to experience something unique, surrounded by the incredible landscapes of Patagonia, Argentina, with people who share your passion for the mountains, this is your opportunity! The volunteer program for El Cruce Saucony 2024 will allow you to experience one of the world's most important adventure races from the inside, in an unparalleled setting.
You will be able to assist in areas such as accreditation, arrivals, photography, supply stations, medical assistance, or camp management. All roles will have equal importance in an event that will begin on Saturday, November 30th with the accreditation of over 4,000 runners from around the world, and will conclude on Friday, December 6th with the arrival of the last competitor, who will receive from your hands the finisher medal, certifying that they successfully completed their participation in one of the most demanding and attractive races in the world.
Your contribution will be of immense value for the execution of this large-scale event, which reaches its 22nd edition in 2024. Experience up close the emotions of fulfilled promises, and the sporting and human feats that characterize this unique race.

PACKET PICKUP and FINISH LINE
This area will be the first point of contact with the runners. You will welcome all participants on the day before the great adventure begins.
You will witness the excitement of the runners as they receive their bibs, chips, or race kits; it is the first moment of emotions during the event.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome the runners at the Accreditation Center/Kit Collection.
- Help manage the flow and maintain order inside the hall.
- Assist with distributing bibs, chips, and race kits.
Additionally, starting from the final arrival of Group 1 on December 3rd, volunteers in this sector will enjoy the most fulfilling moment of their experience: welcoming the runners once they have completed their feat. Your assistance at the final finish line will be of great importance: offering hydration, collecting chips, or handing out medals, perhaps one of the most special moments for each participant.
Responsibilities:
• Manage entry to the start corrals for each stage
• Provide drinks to runners upon arrival
• Organize the finish line area, guiding runners towards the exits.
• Retrieve chips from the shoes.
• Hand out medals to the runners.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Looking to experience the adrenaline of your vocation firsthand at a unique event?
Volunteers in this area will be trained individuals who can attend to runners with injuries or wounds. Alongside our medical team (and emergency service professionals), those in this area will assist participants directly, helping them continue their journey in this adventure.

• Certificate of participation in the El Cruce volunteer program.

• Campsite accommodation in the Campgrounds.

PHOTOGRAPHY
What would an event like this be without photos to remember it? Photography volunteers can be stationed at various points along the routes, at packet pickup centers, or in the camps, and they will be responsible for capturing participants at different stages of the event, often in locations surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. You can share your skills as a photographer, whether amateur or professional, so that the runners can take home the best memories of an unparalleled race.

OASIS (AID STATIONS)
Also known as oasis, hydration or supply stations are undoubtedly one of the most anticipated points for runners during each stage, as they are the places where they can replenish their energy by eating a snack or recharging with some isotonic drink.
To be part of this area, it's essential that you're a nature and hiking enthusiast! This station will be one of the most energetic; besides providing runners with various available products, you can also cheer them on to continue their adventure; all of this amidst the unbeatable scenery of Patagonia.
Responsibilities:
• Provide snacks or drinks to approaching runners.
• Help manage the flow as runners begin to gather.
• Keep the area clean.
• Set up the station each race day.

CAMPS
Undoubtedly, this is one of the areas where you'll be most active. Within each campsite, tasks are as diverse as helping with tent setup or assisting during start and finish times.
Responsibilities:
• Help set up tents
• Assist with general maintenance tasks.
• Support the distribution and retrieval of bags, storage materials, and various products.
• Assist in the control of runners' starts and finishes.
• Provide general information and help with distributing runners in tents or managing dining times.

Due to the large number of applications and the availability of a limited quota, upon confirming the Application, proof of flight or accommodation will be requested.
