It is important to note that the routes of all three stages will feature significant elevation gains, reaching around 2,000 meters above sea level. At this altitude, the wind and cold are felt intensely, especially on the ridgelines.<\/p>

As every year, the Organization has mountain security personnel, doctors, and rescuers who, together with the race director, will determine the feasibility of completing each section of the race.<\/p>

As we have clarified in previous instances, bad weather is a decisive factor that may trigger the activation of a plan B for the route.<\/p>

Each runner will receive a food kit for the route before boarding the bus<\/strong> that will take them to the start. It is important that you place these items in the zippered bag<\/strong> that you must carry in your race backpack, as they cannot be carried in their original packaging.<\/p><\/p>

Remember the importance of not carrying wrappers in your backpack and not leaving any waste along the route.
The route will be marked with blue ribbons<\/strong>. You must follow these ribbons throughout the course, always looking for them ahead.

FROM KILOMETER 1 TO 7<\/strong>
You will start at 1160 meters above sea level<\/strong>. It is very important to carry 2 liters of water<\/strong> in your backpacks. These will be 7 km of continuous ascent<\/strong> along the slope of Lan\u00edn Volcano<\/strong>. This is the toughest part of the route. Take it easy and enjoy the unparalleled landscape.<\/p><\/p>

FROM KILOMETER 7 TO 10<\/strong>
At kilometer 7, you will begin a gentle descent along the southeast slope of the volcano towards the viewpoint of the Huelleytu\u00e9 Valley<\/strong>.
In these 3 kilometers, you will traverse heavy volcanic sand, which will slow your pace. A small ascent will bring you to kilometer 10.
This point offers an incredible view of Lan\u00edn and the Valley.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>

FROM KILOMETER 10 TO 24<\/strong><\/span>
From this point, you will cross rivers and streams<\/strong> with high-quality water<\/strong>.
These are 14 kilometers of descent<\/strong> along the eastern slope trail of the valley. An incredible landscape<\/strong> invites you to run, crossing rivers, always heading towards Huechulafquen Lake<\/strong>.<\/p><\/p>

FROM KILOMETER 25 TO 34<\/strong><\/span>
At kilometer 25, you will find the Oasis<\/strong> with various drinks, salty snacks, sweets, and fruits<\/strong>.
From this point, you will continue the descent along mountain trails and paths<\/strong> to reach Camp 1<\/strong> on the shore of Huechulafquen Lake.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>

Stage 2 will begin at Camp 1<\/strong>. The start will be according to the overall arrival order of Stage 1<\/strong>. At the camp<\/strong>, you must approach the classification tent<\/strong>, where you will receive a ticket indicating your starting order. Runners in\u00a0primeros 4 kil\u00f3metros ser\u00e1n por camino de monta\u00f1a.<\/strong>\u00a0Luego seguir\u00e1n por bosques hasta llegar al\u00a0oasis en el kil\u00f3metro 7.<\/strong><\/span>
Si bien se encuentra a pocos kil\u00f3metros de la largada, ser\u00e1 el\u00a0\u00fanico puesto\u00a0<\/strong>que tendr\u00e1n en esta etapa y por ello es importante que paren a\u00a0abastecerse.<\/strong><\/span>

DESDE EL KIL\u00d3METRO 7 al 21<\/strong><\/span>
Ingresar\u00e1n en el\u00a0Valle Hueyelthue<\/strong>\u00a0recorrer\u00e1n un sendero de la ladera opuesta a la Etapa 1.\u00a0 Ser\u00e1n\u00a014 kil\u00f3metros de constante ascenso.<\/strong><\/span>
Cruzar\u00e1n\u00a0r\u00edos y arroyos con vistas al volc\u00e1n Lan\u00edn<\/strong>. Es importante que desde el\u00a0kil\u00f3metro 18\u00a0<\/strong>carguen\u00a02 litros de agua en los r\u00edos y arroyos\u00a0<\/strong>que cruzan para cuando se alejen del valle y pasen el bols\u00f3n para entrar a la ladera sureste del volc\u00e1n.<\/span>

DESDE EL KIL\u00d3METRO 21 al 32<\/strong><\/span>
En este \u00faltimo tramo\u00a0no tendr\u00e1n r\u00edos para abastecerse\u00a0<\/strong>y estar\u00e1n expuestos al sol, viento y\/o diferentes condiciones clim\u00e1ticas sin lugar de reparo.<\/span>
Recorrer\u00e1n algunas\u00a0sendas\u00a0<\/strong>que les resultar\u00e1n familiares ya que las atravesaron el d\u00eda anterior. Hablamos de las que presentan\u00a0arena volc\u00e1nica.<\/strong>\u00a0Se encontrar\u00e1n, adem\u00e1s, con\u00a0importantes descensos que invitan a correr a un buen ritmo.\u00a0<\/strong>En este punto, presten atenci\u00f3n y cuiden sus rodillas. \u00a1Todav\u00eda queda un d\u00eda m\u00e1s de carrera!<\/span>
La llegada ser\u00e1 en la\u00a0 base del volc\u00e1n Lan\u00edn. Tendr\u00e1n a disposici\u00f3n\u00a0hidrataci\u00f3n<\/strong>,\u00a0\u00a0snacks, s\u00e1ndwich, guiso y pastas instant\u00e1neas.<\/strong><\/span>

Una vez que lleguen, deber\u00e1n\u00a0subirse a los buses\u00a0<\/strong>para que los\u00a0trasladen al campamento 2<\/strong>. No se organicen para esperar a sus compa\u00f1eros. FROM KILOMETER 1 TO 5
<\/b><\/span>The start of the final stage will be from Camp 2<\/strong>. From there until Kilometer 5, you will travel along mountain trails<\/strong> with a constant ascent<\/strong>, but not too steep. Many of these sections are suitable for running. Upon reaching Kilometer 5, you will find a water refill station<\/strong>.<\/p><\/p>

FROM KILOMETER 5 TO 13<\/strong>
This will be a trail with a continuous ascent until reaching the summit of Cerro Colorado<\/strong>, with a positive elevation gain of 840 meters<\/strong>. The trail is sheltered by forest, except at the summit.<\/p><\/p>

FROM KILOMETER 13 TO 16<\/strong><\/span>
You will encounter a constant descent from the mountain<\/strong> along very steep trails<\/strong>. Once again, take care of your knees on these downhill sections. After completing this segment, you will be able to recharge at the oasis<\/strong>.<\/p><\/p>

FROM KILOMETER 13 UNTIL THE FINISH LINE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Now the descents will be more gradual<\/strong>, along mountain trails and paths, leading you towards the final finish line<\/strong>. You will find an oasis at kilometer 23, with a negative elevation drop of 450 meters.<\/span><\/p>

The last 6 kilometers<\/strong>, if your legs hold up and the motivation is there, are very run-friendly<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

In Stage 3<\/strong>, a classification system<\/strong> will be added, allowing your friends, family, or companions to track your progress in real time during the race. The system will provide an estimated race time<\/strong> so they can expect you at the finish line and enjoy that moment together.<\/span>
The last 2 kilometers<\/strong> of the race offer unique views<\/strong> of the city of San Mart\u00edn de los Andes and Lake L\u00e1car. Because of this, we invite spectators to cheer and celebrate<\/strong> with the runners during the final stretch of the race.<\/span><\/p>

All El Cruce<\/strong> participants should be aware that the race follows a mountainous route deep in the Andes<\/strong> on the slopes of Mount Lan\u00edn<\/strong>.<\/p><\/p>

Although this is unique<\/strong>, we must be aware that it is not a simple course<\/strong> around a city.
In Stage 1<\/strong>, participants will have 25 kilometers with no escape routes<\/strong> and no way for a vehicle to access the trails they will be traveling.
Those who take more than 15 minutes per kilometer<\/strong> in the first stage will have an alternative route in Stage 2<\/strong>.<\/p><\/p>

The regulation establishes that the time limits are 12 minutes per kilometer for group 1<\/strong> and 14 minutes per kilometer for groups 2, 3, and 4<\/strong>. For this reason, those who take more than 15 minutes per kilometer in the first stage<\/strong> will NOT<\/strong> be able to follow the original route on day 2, as the Organization considers that, based on the time from the first stage, they will have more than 10 hours to complete the route of Stage 2<\/strong>.
